Buyer Platform Guide — Your progress Step 3 of 5
Send a detailed RFQ to your shortlisted suppliers. Include product specs, target quantity, target price, delivery timeline, and certification requirements.

Full Guide

An RFQ (Request for Quote) is the formal way to ask suppliers for pricing. A well-crafted RFQ saves time and gets better responses.

Include: product name + HS code, detailed specifications (fabric, dimensions, weight, packaging), target quantity with size/color breakdown, target price range, delivery timeline, destination port, Incoterms preference (FOB recommended), payment terms (LC at sight for new suppliers), certification requirements, and sample requirements.

You can send an RFQ to specific shortlisted suppliers OR let our auto-match system invite all matching suppliers. We recommend both: manually select 5-7 plus enable auto-invite for broader market scanning.

Suppliers respond within 48-72 hours. All responses are aggregated in your RFQ detail page with sortable comparison columns.

Do-This Checklist

  • Prepare detailed product specifications
  • Set realistic target price and MOQ
  • Choose Incoterms (FOB for first order)
  • Choose payment terms (LC at sight recommended)
  • Manually select 5-7 shortlisted suppliers
  • Enable auto-invite for broader reach
  • Monitor responses within 48-72 hours

Common Pitfalls to Avoid

  • Vague specifications — suppliers quote based on assumptions
  • Unrealistic target price — no responses
  • Sending to only 1-2 suppliers — no comparison data
