Sylvana Quader Sinha

Sylvana Quader Sinha is a Bangladeshi-American healthcare entrepreneur, best known as the Founder and former CEO of Praava Health, Bangladesh's leading brick-and-click healthcare platform. Born and raised in the United States, Sinha had a successful career in international law, including serving as a foreign policy advisor to Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign and working for the World Bank in Afghanistan.

While visiting Bangladesh in 2011 for a family wedding, Sinha had a 'lightbulb moment' after her mother nearly died after an operation at a top private hospital. She observed that 'there was really no amount of money that could afford you access to quality healthcare in Bangladesh.' This experience led her to move to Bangladesh in 2015 to found Praava Health.

Under Sinha's leadership, Praava Health launched services in 2018 and tripled its growth every year. The company combines physical healthcare centers with telemedicine, online pharmacy, and in-house diagnostics. Praava has served 150,000+ patients and processed 75,000 COVID-19 tests in 2020.

Praava Health has raised over $15 million from prominent angel investors including retired US Army General David Petraeus (former CIA Director), Esther Dyson (tech pioneer), and healthcare leaders from Singapore and the US. TechCrunch covered the company's $10.6M Series A Prime funding round in March 2021.

In 2024, Sinha transitioned from CEO role with Mohammad Abdul Matin Emon appointed as new CEO.
