Full Guide

When your RFQ responses arrive, use the RFQ Comparison table to evaluate them. Sort by: unit price, lead time, MOQ, payment terms, certifications, response time, and supplier rating.

Don\'t just negotiate on unit price. Often suppliers have more flexibility on: MOQ reduction, payment terms (advance → LC), sample cost, lead time compression, custom packaging, and re-order price lock.

Always request pre-production samples before placing a bulk order. Standard practice: buyer pays sample cost (2-3x unit price) + express shipping, sample cost credited back on bulk order.

For large orders (USD 50,000+), consider a third-party factory audit by SGS, Bureau Veritas, or Intertek (USD 300-800).

Do-This Checklist

  • Open RFQ detail page — review all responses
  • Use Comparison table to sort by price, lead time, MOQ
  • Shortlist 3 top suppliers for negotiation
  • Request pre-production samples from top 2-3
  • Inspect samples upon arrival
  • Award RFQ to chosen supplier

Common Pitfalls to Avoid

  • Choosing lowest price without comparing terms
  • Skipping sample step — bulk production on assumptions
  • Not negotiating payment terms — 100% advance is risky
